“State of the Real Estate Market”
With all the talk in the lower 48 about how awful the market is, many people feel that this is not the time to sell their house. They want to wait until the market improves. Well, depending on who you talk to that could be now, this summer, or next year. The point is: if you need to sell your home NOW is the time to do it. If you wait until things improve, you along with everyone else who waited will be putting your house on the market at the same time, giving buyers lots to choose from. If you list your home now, there is not as much inventory, and the fact is, buyers are still buying, even in the winter months. Something to consider if you are thinking of selling: declutter, declutter, declutter. Get rid of nic-nacs, photos, and mementos. Pack them away for your next home. Buyers don’t want to see YOUR home; they want to see THEIR home. The buyers are out there. Get your home ready, sell now, and by spring when everyone else is rushing to list, you may be on your way to closing! I wrote a "State of the Real Estate Market" article for the Frontiersman newspaper that comes out at the end of the month. This is good information for anyone looking to sell in 2008 or anyone just wanting to know the real facts about the residential real estate market.
